The 2007 Rusty Nail Bush Verse Festival
The Central Goldfields Bush Poets have again organised an absolute extravaganza of bush poetry focused on the old and young alike. This year the festival has been moved to Marong and will be an indoor venue, the Marong Community Hall.
The Festival highlight will of course be the performances given by primary school children from near and far. Children will have the opportunity to perform both an original poem and another poem written by someone else. We encourage children to enter both categories. Stage experience such as this is excellent preparation for speech presentations later on in secondary school.
The program is included in the Letter to Schools link. There will be some great bush poets and musicians performing for the audience and children during the Bush Poetry, Traditional Song and Bush Music Breakfast, and throughout the day.
The focus of the performances will be very much on items that are suitable for all ages from the young tiny tots all the way through to grandparents.
